Cosplay - White Snake and Pucci

Finally a clear shot of my White Snake costume and the Pucci outfit I made for my friend Maguma to wear with me!

White Snake's bodysuit and mask cover is made of custom printed spandex (thanks to ~JOSEPHSK for helping me design it), while the crown, front piece, collar, skirt, wristbands, and boot covers are made of black sequin spandex, sometimes over craft foam. The boot covers and collar feature real metal studs and spikes. White Snake's distinctive eyes were created by pulling white pantyhose over some cut up clear rubber balls (so they'd have eye-like curvature) and then drawing the starburst "pupil" design onto them. The costume was primarily created by using reference from the White Snake Pursuer arc of the manga, with stripe detail inspired by the Banpresto keychain to try and help make sure I was not mistaken for Lady Gaga. (I was totally mistaken for Lady Gaga anyway.)

Pucci's coat and pants are made of the same sequin spandex that was used on my own costume. The gold is a kind of foil spandex I found at Fabrics R Us, and the silver trim is silver braid. The priest collar piece at the front is silver spandex over craft foam, and the studs around the collar are made of Super Sculpey painted with craft foam. His outfit was created primarily using reference from the same White Snake Pursuer arc as well as the Stone Ocean volume... 11 I think it was? The cover with Pucci on the front. However, we also took the color scheme and a few details that we really liked (the sleeve crosses, for one) from the Real Action Heroes figure. My favorite detail is that the collar and jacket facings are all made using this absolutely godawful knockoff Pucci print spandex that I had had lying around for something like two or three years, just waiting for something worthy of using it on. I think making a really bad joke about the fashion design names of Stone Ocean was a worthy use!

The CD-Rs with DISC scrawled on them were the easiest prop ever. Wearing this outfit, however, was not easy. I really need to remember for the next time I consider making a Stand costume that if the character has no nose, I should make sure I have airholes to breathe through. That was kind of... special. Asphyxiation time! I'd like to do a proper photoshoot of this outfit later, since White Snake is a remote Stand and can be photographed by itself, but I'm afraid of putting on that mask again!
